My Kamshet Village Adventure with Village Outing Campaign

Hello, dear readers! After a long break, I am back here, sharing my latest travel journey. Life had kept me busy in the prolonged rat race, but amidst the mundane (ordinary), a longing for something more sparked my decision to embark on a trip. I delved into countless travel videos and explored various destinations until I stumbled upon a hidden gem: A Village Outing- Trekking and Camping in Kamshet, Pune.

Equipped with newfound determination, I set my plans into motion. Teaming up with my friend, who resides in Pune, we charted our course. The first order of business was securing the tickets. I booked a journey from Amravati to Pune via RedBus, marking the official beginning of our Kamshet adventure.

Day 1: Arrival and Settling In

I arrived in Pune around 9:30 AM, in Nigdi. There, I met my friend, and together, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast. Afterward, we scoured OYO for accommodations and struck gold with RK Exclusive OYO at just 800/-. A quick 30-minute drive brought us to our hotel. Following the check-in process, we freshened up and divided our tasks. My friend ventured out to find a rental scooter while I made an advance payment to the head of the Village Outing Camp, Kamshet, Pune.

Day 2: Exploring the Beauty of Kamshet Pune

Day 2 dawned with excitement. We woke up at 6 AM, packed our bags, and ready ourselves for a day of exploration. We completed our morning routine and checked out early, around 10 AM, from the hotel. After the checkout, our first stop was the scooter rental office. The journey took an hour due to Pune's bustling traffic. Upon reaching the location, we delved into the paperwork, filling out forms and submitting a deposit of 1000/-. We also handed over our original IDs, such as Aadhar cards, driver's licenses, or PAN cards, which are compulsory for rental.

Note:- It's crucial to check the vehicle's condition before booking and ensure you collect a bill for any repairs, as this is necessary for refunds. With the paperwork sorted, we set off on our Kamshet camping, taking the old Mumbai highway from the Nigdi flyover. Though Google Maps indicated a one-hour travel time, it took us around 1 hour and 46 minutes. The journey was captivating, offering scenic views of mountains, waterfalls, and the beautiful Vadiwale Dam upon our arrival in Kamshet, Pune.

The Village Outing Camp, our ultimate destination, was a bit further, but the journey was worth every moment.

Experiencing the Heart of the Trip

Upon reaching the campsite, we were captivated by its beauty and immaculate upkeep. The boys who guided us were incredibly polite, quickly dispelling our initial fears. We were the first guests to arrive, which initially made us a bit apprehensive. However, after engaging in conversation, we felt like a part of their family. We settled into our cottage, capturing the breathtaking moments on our phones. The campsite staff served us evening snacks – Kanda Bhaja and tea – both delicious and generously portioned. The campsite offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options; it's important to specify your preference when booking. After our delightful snacks, we engaged in a game of Ludo, played on a larger-than-life board, a first for me.

We explored the campsite, discovering a waterfall to the left and a pristine well. The sound of the waterfall and the serenity of the surroundings created an indescribable sense of peace.

We proceeded with our dinner, starting with Paneer Chili as a starter. The main course included Brinjal Sabji, Dal, Besan, Rice, and Bhakri made from rice. For dessert, we savored Shevlya, a sweet treat.

The dinner was prepared in the typical village style, and the flavors of the sabzi and besan were simply divine. Following our meal, we strolled around the area, enjoying the peaceful ambiance. A craving for a fizzy drink led me to request a spirited Coke, which the caretaker promptly provided. After our refreshing drink, we returned to our cottage and retired for the night, feeling content.

Day 3: Chasing Sunrise in Kamshet Camping

Day 3 commenced with the mesmerizing sight of the sunrise over the mountains. The early hours were a bit chilly, so I recommend carrying a blanket for added comfort. After our morning routine, we emerged from our cottage, ready to experience the day. We indulged in a sumptuous breakfast, featuring unlimited Missal Pav and tea, a delightful combination that invigorated us for the day's adventures.

Eager to explore nearby attractions, we set off towards the Kondeshwar Temple, which was just a 20 to 30-minute drive from the Village Outing Camp. The temple was surrounded by majestic mountains, and it marked the starting point of a captivating waterfall.

We spent an hour in silent contemplation, absorbing the temple's peaceful aura. It's important to respect the temple's rules; photography was not allowed inside. After our serene experience, we packed our bags and checked out at 11 AM, beginning our journey back to Pune. The return trip took us around 3 hours due to a lunch break at a random restaurant. Upon reaching Pune, we returned the rented scooter, receiving a partial refund due to our early return. Back at the hotel, we engaged in casual conversations, concluding our day with a hearty dinner before retiring for the night.

Day 4: Farewell to Kamshet Camping

The final day had arrived, marked by bittersweet goodbyes. We woke at 7 AM, completed our morning rituals, and packed our bags. My bus back to Amravati was scheduled for 4 p.m., prompting an early departure. We bid farewell to our loved ones, acknowledging the difficulty of goodbyes. Thus concluded our unforgettable mini-adventure in Kamshet village through the Village Outing Campaign.
